Hey there and welcome! I am so excited to be bringing you my first project for my guest designer spot over at Clique Kits! I am using the Clique into December kit which is their holiday kit and let me tell you it is jam packed with so many products I was like, ok Christmas came early for me HA! It is featuring the Christmas Wishes line from PinkFresh Studios and I am in love with it totally and completely!
I decided to create an intro page to my December Daily for my project. I was on the fence for awhile about wether or not I was going to do one this year, especially since last year I attempted one but never finished. I found it hard because we were planning for a big two week family vacation that we were flying out for on Christmas morning and with all of the regular holiday stress and a vacation on top of it I was doomed before I even got started! But this year we are not going anywhere out of town so I figured why not give it a shot. SO after all of that I thought well any good book worth its binding has a nice intro page! I started off with a piece of water color paper cut to 6×8. I mostly did that because the patterned papers that came in the kit were just to precious to me and I couldn’t come to terms with using a sheet for this page. So I didn’t 🙂 I grabbed one of the glassine bags that came in the kit and decided it would be a nice touch to add some movement in it, so I filled it about 1/4 of the way full with the sequins from the kit along with some tiny punched shapes from the silver POW paper that came included and some while glitter form my stash. I sealed it shut and then layered it with my photo (I found that on Google Images) and one of the exclusive 3×4 cards from the kit.
Before I laid my main cluster down I did a little work to the background with some Distress Ink in Barn Door and some aqua splatters. I put the cluster down, but I almost forgot that I had matted my photo onto a sheet of the paper from PinkFresh! I then added my title using the gold tile alphas from PF right onto my photo. I finished it off with those amazing puffy alphas on the bottom of the photo and I just love how it ended up popping off the page! And I simply cannot forget that little hashtag flair that I put on the pic! Too cute!
I did add in a shipping tag from the kit with some of the included hemp twine to do a little bit of journaling as well. It just slips in and out so that whoever may be intrigued by it may look! I added in some of the cute die cuts from PF and finished off with some more of those amazing sequins! I do hope that you have enjoyed my first project. This kit is amazing and I can’t wait to create more with it. I will be using lots of it in my December Daily so I hope that you will follow along with me and we can all see how this comes together! I will leave a link at the below to the process if you’d like to see that and please make sure that you check out Clique Kits! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you will again!
Welcome! Today I have a 12×12 page that I created and for this one I pulled out my Crate Paper “Oh Darling” collection. This is an older collection but I still love it because it is just so girly and I have girl photos coming out of my ears hahaha! I also wanted to use it to specifically document this story from the summer time because it is starting to get a little chilly here in Minnesota and I needed something to remind me of the summertime! I decided to use two pictures for this one and printed them out at 3×4 from my Canon Selphy. For my background I decided to pull out this gorgeous Marth Stewart doily silkscreen that I had in my stash. If you don’t know what a silkscreen is, it is basically a stencil for paint. It has an adhesive back and you just apply paint to the surface and scrape it across. When you pull up the silkscreen you are left with an amazing detailed impression! I just love using them! I used a really light pink color to do this because I knew that I wanted to use some lighter colors. I then created some layers to go behind my photos and popped the left one up on pop dots. I should mention that I did end up doing some splattered with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in “Teal” and Tim Holts Distress Spray Stain in the gold color. I am sorry I can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head….(WHOOPS…) I then embellished just a tab with some of the die cuts and scattered some blue rhinestones that also were included in the die cut pack in with the dots from the splatters. I just really love that look of confetti that has exploded everywhere don’t you? I used some older Thickers in creme that I have had in my stash for a very long time to the top of the photos and for the bottom of the page I used a strip from the cut apart sheet and layered a chipboard bike (fitting huh!) and some of the die cuts along with my journaling.
I’m sorry that I only seem to have this one photo for this one but I hope you enjoyed nevertheless! I really appreciate your support and hope that you will also check out the process video for this one below! Have a great rest of the day!
Hi again, I ‘m so glad that you have stopped by today! I have a layout using the new Maggie Holmes collection “Shine” and I must say that I am sending this one to the hoarding vault along with “Flea Market”! I just absolutely love it!! I can’t get enough! So for this page I knew that I wanted to do something a little lighter and airer that I normally do and I must say that I blame that partly on Suse Fish and my habit of binge watching her videos while I am getting ready in the morning lol! She has this amazing way of taking products and making some of the most beautiful pages that I have ever seen. Well I saw this picture as my opportunity to attempt something light myself so I decided to give it a go. I started with a 12×12 piece of watercolor paper, and did some pink and light blue splatters concentrating on the center area. I knew that I wanted a centered design so I chose some papers for my layer behind my photo and made sure that most of them were “square-ish” so that I could keep with that design. Now for the gold strip that is actually some crepe paper streamer that I picked up from Target one day and I just used a straight stick to sew down the center of it and pulled on the thread that comes out of the bobbin to get it to ruffle up like that. I ended up really loving the look of it so there ya go lol!!!
Here is closer look at the main (well the only hahaha) cluster. I think I used some elements from almost all of the embellishment packs that came with this kit and that little chipboard bird…too cute right? I just love the signature birds that MH adds to her collections. The “dream” word is from the sticker sheet and the “darling” word is from the gold glitter Thicker words that come with the collection. Because they are foam I was able to bend and manipulate it a bit to get to take on the shape that I wanted it to! The little gold crown on top of my daughter’s head is also from the Thicker’s set and I just thought it look adorable up there, like it just continued on from the picture!
At the very bottom of the title I did end up doing some stamping with the roller phrase stamp that came with this collection. It truly has some of the sweetest sentiments on it and I LOVE it!! I just chose three different ones and triple stamped each of them. I added in some sequins from MH ‘Styleboard’ collection to finish everything off. I really hope that you like the page today as much I do! Thanks again for stopping by and as always I will leave a link to the process video below in case you would like to check it out! Have a great day everyone!!

I am so excited to get to work and I hope that I can deliver some nice projects! Welcome! Today I am sharing a project that I created for The Crafty Maven Getaway channel over on YouTube. For this one I was assigned to do “Mix it up Monday” which is basically a day where you create something outside of the box of traditional scrapbooking. I chose to make what I am calling a “Thankful” box. I basically constructed a small box that would fit 4×6 cards out of chipboard and used the Notes and Things Project Life kit along with Maggie Holmes Flea Market to decorate it. I wanted it to be pretty but functional as well. My vision for this little box is to have somewhere for me and my family to write thoughts of thankfulness or special prayers and later reflect on them or simply use them as a pick me up on a down day.
Here are a couple of cards that I created for the inside of the box as a starter. I used the Notes and Things cards as a base and then went ahead and embellished with the die cuts that came along in the kit. I did add a few little bits from my stash and did a little stamping but all in all I had to keep in mind that there had to be enough room to write down the thoughts that were intended to for this box and had to stop myself several times HA! It can be hard to do when you have so many pretty things and want to use them all at once! I do hope that some day the girls will want to create some of their own cards to house their thoughts! I just know years down the line it would be something that we would all love to look back on!
For the front of the box I did so a bit more then the cards. I used a stencil from the Crafters Workshop and some Tim Holtz distress paint in Cracked Pistachio to add some color and texture to the background. Then I grabbed some chipboard frames from Maggie Holmes Open Book and layer two of them together. I added in some florals and some leaves and a lovely sentiment that I cut out of one of the PL cards and to finish it all I added my favorite Thickers (fitzgerald in gold) to spell out Thankful!
I loved making this little box. I have to admit it was a bit refreshing to step outside of 12×12 layouts an project life and just make something different! I will leave the link to the process video below and please make sure that you check out the Crafty Maven Getaway! Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!
I must say that this one of my favorite pages that I have made to date. Maybe it was the subject (that just really touched me so much), or maybe it was using new product (always fun, right?), or maybe it was using the new Maggie Holmes “SHINE” collection (OMG!!!). Whatever it was I had this idea in the middle of the night, which is not unusual for me, and the next morning I got to work!
I started with the sheet that is made up of multi-colored rulers….LOVE… and cut them apart using my trimmer. I then placed them on the right half of the page at varying heights. I then ran them through my sewing machine and using a mix of a straight stitch and a zig zag stitch got them stuck down. After that it was a matter of deciding what papers I wanted to layer under my photo ad I selected this black and white floral which is just beautiful! I didn’t want anything that would distract from the rulers in the back as they had some significant meaning to the layout. I then decided to go through the ephemera pack and selected out the pieces that I wanted to use!
Before I adhered any of the pieces down though, I had to start working only title as I knew that this was really going to be the star of the show! I knew that I wanted a long title and I knew the general tone that I wanted it to give the page. I had seen a title similar to this awhile ago on a gallery and I wish that I could remember who did it so that I could credit them but unfortunately I don’t. So I gathered up my alphas and decided on which ones I wanted to use where and so at the end of it all I came up with “Darling, please stay young a little bit longer at least for Moma’s heart” which pretty much sums up how I feel at this moment in time raising my two little girls. After the title was situated I could adhere my embellishments down without worrying about everything not fitting.
I really enjoyed making this layout and honestly it really made my think about the topic much more as I was creating it. I often scrapbook for the art and creative release that it provides and the memories being documented are just an added bonus for my family and myself, but something special about this one that really spoke to me and I really loved that about it! I do hope that you enjoyed it and if you are interested I will leave the link to the video below! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
This layout is one that I created for the Crafty Maven Getaway channel over on YouTube that is ran by my great friend Hannah Lemieux, along with a few other ladies! It’ a great channel and showcases a new project each day! They provide you with an inspiration piece for the week and your challenge is to create a project from it!
This is the inspiration piece that I used for the layout at the top! You can see that I really drew from the woodgrains and the rich fall colors! I love doing these challenges because I really end up diving into my stash and using some older (and I mean OLDER lol) products up! It also just gives you a great jumping off point if you are feeling a little drained creatively which is nice.
Here you can see the main cluster which houses my photo. I usually print my pictures off of my Canon Selphy and have been really partial to the 4×4 size for awhile now. I will print and scrap in other sizes every now and again but I find it really easy to use the square photos. I layered some papers together an before I adhered them all down I ran them through my sewing machine to define the edges of them. I also just had to use that floral which is by October Afternoon and is one of my all time favorite papers! I cut into a triangle and did some sewing around that as well using some gold thread! Underneath all of that yummy paper goodness I placed a vintage paper doily that came from my stash of hoardables lol. I just love how delicate it is! The rest of the embellishments are really from various collections. A photo overlay from Crate Paper, some gold glitter leaves from Maggie Holmes Confetti, some buttons from Maggie Holes Open Book, and even some stickers from 5th and Frolic by Dear Lizzy! I also did some sewing and layering of the papers on the right side of the page just to add some color and interest over there, plus it closes in the layout!
For the title I hand cut some banners with some papers that coordinated with the page, and then I placed a the word “beautiful” which comes from the new Maggie Holmes “Shine” collection which is just to simply die for! The letters I used for the word “day” are by Simple Stories, and the “are” stickers are by Lilybee design. And last but not least those lovely gold puffy letter stickers are by Seven Paper (Studio Calico). After I layered a Craft Market sticker arrow and a Tim Holtz resin flower and threw in a gold chipboard heart from MH I called it done up there! I splattered some Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine around the page and added some sequins and that’s where I called it done! I do hope that you liked it as much I had fun making it! I will post the link below if you would like to see the video and also make sure that you head over to the Crafty Maven Getaway channel and check out the videos as I’m sure that you will find something that suits you!
